Ekina Khadka- " I am glad that she is now doing better and been setting an example for others"

For me it was a day like any else where I went to the ICU to see my patients. I walked in and saw this beautiful teen aged girl with long plated hair. She was lying there in pain and uncomfort. She was repeatedly trying to express her pain to me. It seemed like she was trying to say something to me but I couldn’t understand her babbling voice. I quickly realized she had a tracheostomy done. I knew that she was trying to recover and I could help her do that.

During my session with her  I did some chest physio and passive movements of her limbs. Gradually our bond as a patient and a therapist started to build up. I started to mobilize her in a wheel chair which was specially more challenging because of her conditions. She was an exceptional patient for me because of her will to get better and win against GBS. This influence me myself to work harder and I wanted to see her functionally well. She got better in few months and went ahead to give her SEE Examination and got A+ Grade that made her character even more protruding. I am glad that she is now doing better and been setting an example for others with similar kind of disorders and challenges.

I wish I could treat more patients like her in the future. She made me realize that I could make children like her feel and function like anyone else and that truly makes me happy .
